Our traditional food in spring festival–dumpling

These days, a great number of people are preparing for one of the most important festivals in our country which is called the Spring Festival.

I am from Sichuan, china. In my hometown, we have the custom that eating dumplings during the Spring Festival. Although I have had many Spring Festivals, every time we have to eat dumplings during the festival. Most of us will buy the dumplings and will not boil them until the Spring Festival morning. I have seen many times that my mother boil the dumplings and the way to make it is not so difficult. We can not only boil them, but also we can fry them. When we go to the restaurant, we can see the different kinds of dumplings ranging from boiled dumplings to fried dumplings in the Chinese food menu. If you want to eat dumplings which were boiled, you can bring large pot of water to boil, and then add enough dumplings to cover the base of the pot, when it comes to a boil, they are ready to serve. Typically they are eaten with a sauce and vinegar, or just plain vinegar. For more flavors, add a little sesame oil, or chili pepper as you like. If you want to eat fried dumplings, you can fry them after they have been boiled. Though they are made in different way, both of them are delicious.

Eating dumplings is one of our traditions and it will keep for a long period of time.

Acid Turnip

With the increase in the general standard of living, some ordinary Chinese universities’ students begin to cooking themselves. A great number of factors, both individual and social, could account for the prevalence. On the one hand, owing to today’s university students get better aware of their health, and consequently they are careful about their diet. As a result, they begin to cooking for themselves. On the other hand, there is too much time they can use at the university, in order to enrich their school life and lay a solid foundation of their future life; they begin to cooking for themselves.

Now I will talk about a kind of food called acid turnip. You can not find it in the Chinese food menu and you may have a problem where we can have it. Now I will introduce the dish briefly. It is one of the most delicious foods that Hunan people like and it is sour and sweet. You can make it as follows:

First, cut the turnip into shape whatever you like. Then put the turnip into the boiling water which has been cooling. Finally, add the salt, vinegar, sugar, and chili into the water. All the step of making the dish is over and we need to do is seal it up for one day, then you can have it with rice or nothing. Do you think it is easy for you to make it?

There are many reasons for me to introduce this kind of dish to you. One is that it is convenient for you to make it and you needn’t to spend too much time. The other reason is that it is cheap for you to buy the material.

Delicious chinese sausage

One of the most favorite dishes for me is the sausage. We can have this kind of dish in every restaurant in every place in china. It is a very common dish in china and you can see this kind of dish in Chinese food menu everywhere.

Every year, my mother will prepare a lot of sausage which is for the next year before the Spring Festival is coming. The flavor of the sausage is also salty in my hometown, but in some place the flavor of the sausage is sweet, such as Guangzhou. You can choose what kind of flavor to have according to yourself. I like both of the flavors and sometimes we also add some hot pepper in it. The way to make the sausage is very complicate, so we often have the professional person to make it and pay for the money. After they have made done the sausage we will take the sausage back home and we can make the dish whenever we want to eat. We often have the steamed sausage. If we go to the restaurant we also can have the dish which is stir-fried with other food. The flavor of the dish is good no matter how to make it.

No matter what person you are or no matter which country you are from, and no matter you come to china for a visit or for business, the sausage will meet your needs and you will like it. It’s your best choice.

Healthy vegetable in our daily life

What food can make me beauty? I want to become the beauty through eatting. How can we know which food is good for our body and keep young. With the time passed, many problems appear on our body or somewhere, the food can solve some problems, and we can ues the food to let me become beauty or keep beautiful.

Now, we should know which kind of food is bad for us.

  1. High sugar food(carbohydrates), such as the potatos, it is easy to cause the diabetes, and it will harm other organs. At the same time, it will make your face grow some “doudou”.
  2. Maybe some girls like to eatting the barbecues, you must know it will cause the free of the basic to atom, so it will lead us have cancer.
  3. Eatting too much spicy food will lose blance in your body, and lead to grow some”doudou” or some face problems.
  4. Some girls want to lose weight, they will become the vegetarian, but it will cause the skin’s inflammation. It will turn out the Skin ageing and more wrinkles as a vegetarian.

Above that, we have the Preliminary understanding of food, what kind of food can make us become beauty or keep beautiful.

I tell you some kinds of food which is good for us:

  • fruit:such as bananas, apples, oranges, mangos, grapes, Kiwi
  • Vegetables:spinach(but don’t eat too much, especially there is a matter of the renal);lily(make skin more burnish and elastic); mushroom( resist the skin ageing);toamtos(have strong antioxidation);cauliflower(have many Cancer-fighting enzymes);kelp(rich iodine);carrots;pumpkins;cucumber;Wax gourd;asparagus;sweetpotatos; Bean sprouts;ternip, coriander, Towel gourd
  • meat:in cold winter, the mutton and beef are very necessary to resist the cold, and the fish is very good; eggs, lean, tunny,
  • other kinds of food: oats, Sunflower seeds, Pumpkin seeds, walnut, peanuts, sesame, tofu, almond.
  •  the drinks:green tea, yogurt, honey water, lemon water.

These just some advice, maybe there is some better which I don’t mention, but I had try to eat that food, it is very useful in some extent. In fact, if the food eat in right way, its efficacy can appear, and become one of the members in “beauty food”.

The traditional chinese four cuisines

There are eight major world famous culinary cuisines in china and I will introduce you four cuisines which can be listed as follows: the Sichuan cuisine, the Hunan cuisine, the Guangdong cuisine, the Fujian cuisine.

The Sichuan cuisine, as we all know that is famous for hot and spicy. There are a great many of flavors of Sichuan cuisine. You can have two different kinds of flavor in fishy taste. If you like hot and spicy or if you have a deep flavor, you can choose this kind of cuisine.

The Hunan cuisine is famous for it’s spicy. You can find chili in every dish but not as spicy as the hot pot. They will have more flavors when we add the chili.

And the Guangdong cuisine is also very famous. There are three parts of the Guangdong cuisine including Guangzhou, Chaozhou and Dongjiang. Guangzhou cuisine is the representative. The flavor of the Guangdong cuisine is lighter, such as salt roasted chicken.

At last I will talk about the Fujian cuisine. They pay much attention to the colors, the flavors, the tastes and the appearances of the cooked dishes, Such as snowflakes chicken.

There are different kinds of cuisines for you to choose and you can choose according to you flavor.

Oyster sauce beef

Oyster sauce beef is one of the private food recipes in china, the main features as creamy fresh, no toughness, and delicious.

Oyster sauce, the special sauce of Guangdong, is mainly made of the Shajin oyster juice. After baking and cooking with starch,sesame, sugar and salt, the oyster juice turn into oyster sauce which preserves the unique flavor of fresh oysters, but no oyster fishy smell.

Otherwise, the oyster sauce is rich in nutrients such as amino acids and protein, needed by our body.

The Oyster sauce beefis very popular in Guangdong and serve in most restaurants owing to its delicious taste and easy cooking way as bellow:

Firstly, put twenty-five gram starch in a cup and stir with light soy sauce, soda, and water until the starch turn paste.

Secondly, place the beef in a plate. Then join in the paste starch and peanut oil before stir them. Keep them for half an hour before frying.

Thirdly, fry the beef in strong fire, and then one minute later join in the oyster sauce with MSG, soy sauce, sesame oil, pepper powder, starch, and water. and Keep frying for ten minutes.

At last, join in the garlic, jinger, onion and oil by sesame oil before take the dish out. It is so easy to cook the oyster sauce beef. Why don’t you try it?

Lemon duck is a special dish that origins from Nanning city, the center of Guangxi province. The dish is very popular there and it is so delicious that you will be deeply attracted to Its crispy meat with special lemon smell after the first strong-feeling taste as spicy and sour.

Its delicious taste mostly owe to the special material-lemon. The lemon is not fresh but marinated with salt, holding in sealed glass jar and shining it first week before putting it in the shadow place. In this way, It can produce the lemon sour which can remove fishy smell and soften meat, and make the dish more delicious by joining into the dish.

The other main materials are sour peppers, sour shallots, sour gingers, plum, and garlic.

The cooking way of lemon duck is easy. Firstly, clean the duck and cut it into piece after killing it. Secondly, fry it six minute with sour seedless lemon, sour peppers, sour shallots, sour gingers, plum, and garlic. Thirdly, keep simmering for two minute before oil them the sesame oil. Then take it out and put it on the dish.

Lijiang fish is from Guilin Lijiang River, which is famous in the world and clear for many years. As the reason of Living in such good Quality water, Lijiang fish is fat, tender, fresh and smooth, very good for cooking especially in steaming way, making it taste very delicious.

How is the cooking way? Is it complicate?Actually, the steaming way is easy. Let me introduce it. Materials must be ready first as follow: Lijiang fish, pork, salt, MSG, alcohol, onion, melon, sesame oil, and starch.

When all is ready, It is the second step to Kill the fish and cut some lines on both sides, mixing with salt, MSG, and a little alcohol. Then Put the fish on dish with onion at the bottom and Sliced pork, melon on the top.At last, steam them in middle level fire about ten minutes, then oil the fish with sesame oil mixing with starch .When all done, you will have a very good smell and delicious taste on the dish.

I think he says the sweet dumplings (rice ball), when you first time to see it ,you will be very curious to them.

Now I want to introduce for you, I hope you will like eating them.The sweet dumplings are very delicious.

Why we are like to eat sweet dumplings in some special festival, what is the mean of it? Do you know clearly?

It means a family get together and happiness around them in every day,besides, they can deal with everything smoothly.

The sweet dumplings stem from the Song dynasty, the sticky rice cover its surface and roll like a “small ball”, then several minutes later, many sweet dumplings can be eaten after boiling.

Nowadays, there are many kinds of sweet dumplings.Every place has its own culture, so the sweet dumplings also have its own character.

I want to talk about some places’ special sweet dumplings. If you have a chance, I think you should have a try.

First, lard sweet dumplings is from Ling BO, the sesame which crush and mix up the sticky flour. Then put into the bowl which is full of the sugar, in the end, the water mix the flour together, what’s more there is filling inside.

Second, five colour sweet dumplings,which is from the Sue Zhou.The fresh porks, rose lard,sweeten bean pastes, sesames, flowers lard which use as the filling inside.You can choose the salt soup or the sweet soup, the surface consist of the sticky rice and japonica rice.

Third, the sister sweet dumplings in Hunan, it consists of the sticky rice and the rice,the filling inside are jujube paste, sugar,fragrans. The surface is very attracted, you can’t help eating.

Guangdong Food

Do you know clearly how many special food in Guangdong. If you don’t know, take it easy, I will introduce. I think you will enjoy them. Because they are very delicious.

Sliced Chicken with Chicken Livers and Ham, as the chicken is from the Wen Chang area,it is very big and the meat is very rough, what’s more, its bones are very hard and coarse,if use the common way to cook it , it can’t have the good taste,so the chef have the special method to do that. He gets rid of the bones and leaves the meat, then cut it as the same size as the ham, next piece together.

Crispy Fried Chicken,put the salt and the grinding ginger into the chicken. The Prickly ash,anise,dried tangerine, cassia,ginger,amomum tsao-ko as the material of the soup for leaching the chicken. Then place the chicken in which float, after a little dry, coat the Sweet-and-sour material on the chicken’s surface, repeat this action for several times till the chicken dried eventually.
